Dry Needling

Dry needling in Jacksonville FL. A thin needle, a muscle twitch, and relief that massage alone can't deliver.

That knot in your shoulder? We can fix that.

You know the spot. That tight, angry knot between your shoulder blades that's been there for months. You've tried stretching. You've tried foam rolling. You've had massages. It keeps coming back.

Dry needling goes directly into the trigger point -- the actual knot -- with a thin, solid filament needle. When the needle reaches the spot, the muscle twitches and releases. That twitch is the therapeutic magic. It resets the muscle, increases blood flow, and breaks the pain cycle.

And no -- it's not acupuncture. It's based on modern anatomy and neuroscience, not energy meridians. Our providers know exactly which muscles to target based on where your pain is and how your body moves.

It works for necks, shoulders, low backs, hips, jaws, and basically any muscle that's locked up and won't let go. If you're in Jacksonville or Orange Park and you've been living with a muscle knot that won't quit, this is what you need.

Why dry needling works when other things haven't

Gets Where Massage Can't

Some knots are buried deep in the muscle -- layers that hands can't reach effectively. The needle goes directly to the trigger point. No guessing. No surface-level work.

No Drugs Involved

The needle is solid -- there's no medication, no injection. It's your body's own response that does the healing. The twitch releases the knot, blood flow increases, and the muscle relaxes.

Fast Results

This isn't a slow burn. Many patients notice improved range of motion and reduced pain the same day. Some feel dramatic relief after one session. Others need two or three.

Pairs With Everything

Dry needling works great on its own, but it's even better combined with chiropractic adjustments and rehab exercises. We use it as part of a bigger plan, not as a standalone band-aid.

Backed by Research

Dry needling isn't alternative medicine. It's grounded in modern neuroanatomy and supported by peer-reviewed research for musculoskeletal pain conditions. Your provider knows the anatomy cold.

What happens during a session

Quick, targeted, and more comfortable than you'd expect.

01

Finding the Problem

Your provider palpates the muscle to find the trigger points. They'll have you move and resist to confirm which muscles are involved. You'll feel the knots -- they'll feel them too.

02

Needle In, Twitch, Done

A thin filament needle goes into the trigger point. You'll feel a twitch -- like a brief cramp. That's the muscle releasing. The needle stays in for a few seconds to a couple minutes depending on the area. Most people are surprised how fast it goes.

03

Immediate Changes

Blood flow increases to the area. The muscle relaxes. Range of motion improves on the spot. Some patients feel relief within minutes. Others notice the biggest difference the next morning.

04

Lock It In

We follow up with stretches, corrective exercises, or a chiropractic adjustment to reinforce the release. The goal is to keep that muscle from locking back up. You leave with a plan for between visits.

Frequently asked questions

Less than you think. The needles used for dry needling are hair-thin -- much thinner than a hypodermic needle. You won't feel the needle going in. What you will feel is a brief twitch or cramp when it hits the trigger point. That's the muscle releasing. It lasts a second or two. Most people say it feels weird but not painful. And the relief afterward makes it worth it.

Completely different approach. Acupuncture is based on traditional Chinese medicine and targets energy meridians. Dry needling targets specific muscular trigger points based on anatomical knowledge. Same tool (thin needle), totally different science behind it. Our providers are trained in musculoskeletal anatomy and use palpation to find the exact spot causing your problem.

Depends on how long the problem has been going on. Acute issues -- like a muscle that locked up after a workout -- often resolve in one or two sessions. Chronic problems that have been building for months or years usually take three to six sessions. We reassess after each one and adjust the plan based on how you respond.

The treated area might feel sore for a day or two -- similar to how you feel after a hard workout. Some people feel immediate relief. Others notice improvement the next day. We recommend staying hydrated and doing the stretches we give you. By the second session, most people know whether dry needling is going to work for them.

That stubborn knot isn't going to fix itself.
